ANDERSON, SC -- July 4, 2011 -- A typical evening in the year 2011: 5:00 PM - End your long day at work. 5:12 PM - Pick your two year-old up from the baby sitter. 5:35 PM - Arrive home from work. 5:48 PM - Start cooking dinner. 6:31 PM - Eat 7:07 PM - Begin dishes 7:39 PM - Finish dishes, run bath for two year-old. 8:03 PM - PANIC - YOUR CHILD IS STILL PLAYING IN THE BATH! 8:04 PM - Trying to hurry to dry your child, put on pj's, and get your child to bed. 8:05 PM - KNOCK, KNOCK... 8:05 PM - You open the door... 8:05 PM - Your assigned Federal Government "Home Representative" says to you "It's 8:05, is your child in bed?" I know, it sounds far-fetched, doesn't it? I can here it now..."We live in America, that could never happen here" or "That is complete nonsense!". Is it? According to Section 1904, Subpart 3, Section 440 (a)(m) over five years, beginning in 2010, nearly ONE BILLION dollars ($750,000,000 to be exact), is allocated for "home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children" by government officials to "improve the well-being, health, and development of children". I know, it sounds far-fetched, doesn't it? I read it. You should, too... http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/F?c111:1:./temp/~c111emXMaX:e987027: |
